Elephant-Goldfish Model (EGM)

Elephant-Goldfish Model (EGM) is an open-source plugin from Google, a set of skills for designing and reviewing software with AI coding agents. A deep-context "Elephant" agent holds the project context and drafts a specification. "Goldfish" reviewers, run as fresh subagents, then check the draft and its referenced source material without the earlier conversation, to expose unstated assumptions and blind spots. The user makes the trade-offs and approves the design before implementation. The skills cover brainstorming, drafting, resolving review findings, bootstrapping documentation, five-stage review, a review loop and a drift report comparing documents with source code. If an agent cannot create fresh subagent contexts, EGM stops the review, and the README says a review does not replace tests or human judgement. It installs for Antigravity, Claude Code and Codex under Apache-2.0, and has 7,987 stars. The latest release is v0.1.0 (27 October 2026). The README says it is not an officially supported Google product.
