A real-time conversational voice model with near real-time visual grounding across 97 languages, including switching language mid-conversation, plus an Extended Thinking variant that reasons over multiple steps while still speaking, filling the gap with verbal acknowledgements. Google reports an Artificial Analysis Speech-to-Speech Index of 82.6 for Extended Thinking, 68.6% on tau-Voice agentic task completion, 35.1% on Sierra tau-Voice-banking and 97.7% on Big Bench Audio reasoning, with standard 3.8 Live placing second on Speech Agent Arena. Both can call tools mid-conversation. Live now in the Gemini API and AI Studio; Extended Thinking is limited to Pro and Ultra subscribers with enterprise access in private preview.
