First Customer Finder (Codex skill)
First Customer Finder is a skill for Codex that researches public demand signals and produces a shortlist of potential first customers for a product, given a URL, repository or short description. Version 2 adds concrete outreach details (target role, verified public contact route or a missing-route warning, next step and call to action), feedback-driven repeat searches, product-local history with stable prospect IDs, and Markdown and CSV output alongside optional HTML. Each candidate is scored from 0 to 5 on five weighted dimensions (pain strength, product fit, timing, public reachability, evidence quality); the README states the scores are research priorities, not conversion probabilities, and that nothing is sent automatically. It works by having Codex open original public sources such as X posts, GitHub issues, forums and reviews, then qualify candidates, with 'learning' meaning saved preferences rather than model training. It is MIT licensed, has 1141 stars, no tagged releases, and installs via npm (`npx codex-first-customer-finder-skill@latest`); it requires Node.js, Python 3.9+ and a Codex environment with web access. The included demo uses fictional data and is not a live benchmark.
