Genie 4

Genie 4 is a new world model from Google DeepMind, announced on 27 October 2026, that simulates interactive environments in real time. DeepMind says it is its first real-time world model to generate audio natively, producing ambient sound, music and interactive dialogue alongside the world. It also reports improved photorealism and more natural movement of people, and says it simulates physics such as aerodynamics and collisions. Users navigate and control the camera with standard keyboard controls and steer the scene with text prompts, for example changing the weather or adding a person or object. The model builds on the Gemini family: Gemini Omni anchors the simulation in real-world appearance and behaviour, while other Gemini models handle the reasoning that keeps the scene coherent and adapt user prompts to the surrounding scene. No benchmark figures are given in the page. Genie 4 is a research preview for trusted testers, with a waitlist in Project Genie. DeepMind plans to extend it to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and to early access partners of the Gemini API and Google AI Studio.
